Silicone oils are divided into three main categories: linear silicone oils of the dimethyl system, methyl phenyl silicone oils, various modified silicone oils and their secondary processing products.
Dimethyl silicone oil is mainly used in personal care products, defoamer, mold release, lubricant, transformer, power capacitor impregnating oil, power transmission medium, damping fluid, polishing, surface treatment, cold and heat carrier (phenyl silicone oil, solar heat transfer medium), additive of some oil-soluble coatings and plastic additives, etc.
Methyl phenyl silicone oil is mainly used in cold and hot carrier, power container, transformer oil, personal care products, radiation resistant silicone base oil, etc.
Modified silicone oil mainly includes: amino silicone oil, epoxy modified silicone oil, alkyl modified silicone oil, trifluoropropyl silicone oil, hydroxyalkyl silicone oil, methylphenethyl silicone oil, multi-modified silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil and so on. Among them, amino silicone oil is used in textile softener, personal care additives, resin modification (terminal amino silicone oil) and others (polishing, leather waterproofing, etc.).
Epoxy silicone oil is used in textile auxiliaries and resin modification.
Alkyl modified silicone oil is used in base oil of grease, mold release machine and does not affect the printability of products, defoamer and low-foaming leveling agent of coating ink and oil.
Methyl trifluoropropyl silicone oil is applied to water repellency, oil repellency, stain resistance, high efficiency defoamer and relatively high boundary lubricity.
Hydroxyalkyl silicone oil is applied to the modification of polyurethane resin (stain resistance, heat resistance, water resistance) and the preparation of other anti-graffiti resins.
Methyl phenethyl silicone oil has better compatibility with organic materials than alkyl silicone oil, so its application to improve thermal stability and high temperature resistant coating leveling agent.
Multi-modified silicone fluids are used in polyether, amino block silicone fluids and polyether alkyl co-modified silicone fluids.
Polyether modified silicone oil is used in polyurethane foam leveling agent (soft foam, hard foam, high resilience foam), hydrophilic soft auxiliary for textile, defoamer (one of the compounding components), leveling agent for coating and ink, PU synthetic leather auxiliary, pesticide spray auxiliary, personal care products. Hydrophilic soft auxiliary for textile is a water-soluble silicone oil that gives hydrophilic, sweat-absorbing and anti-static properties to fabrics. In addition, it is also used in paint defoamer and high temperature dyeing defoamer.
Polyether modified silicone oil for coating and ink leveling agent is good for promoting fluidity, increasing gloss, smoothing coating film surface, helping substrate wetting, anti-crater, anti-caking and anti-adhesive; for synthetic leather auxiliary is good for leveling, wetting, anti-bonding and peeling; for pesticide spraying auxiliary is good for reducing spraying volume, protecting the environment, promoting rapid absorption of the liquid (rainwater resistance) and increasing the coverage of the liquid spray; for personal care products is good for reducing irritation and promoting foam
