The ISO standard for fumed silica formulated under the leadership of our country was successfully released —- Jiangxi
Not long ago, a new international standard for nanomaterials ISO 18473-3: 2018 “Pyrogenic Silica for Silicone Rubber” developed under the leadership of our country was officially approved Released, 7 months ahead of schedule (October 12, 2018). This not only marks another major breakthrough that my country has made in the field of international standardization of nanomaterials, but also shows that my country has independent intellectual property rights for nano-vapor phase II. Silicon oxide products have a leading position among similar products in the world.
According to the introduction of Dr. Wang Yuelin, the project leader of the international standard, the first ISO/TC256 Outstanding Contribution Award winner, and an expert in silicone and nanomaterials , the standard was officially established in October 2015. It was drafted by Guangzhou Jibisheng Technology Industrial Co., Ltd., the leader in the domestic fumed silica industry, and the internationally renowned fumed silica companies Evonik Industries AG (Germany’s Evonik Industries Group), Wacker Chemie AG (Germany’s Wacker Chemicals), Tokuyama Chemicals (Japan’s Tokuyama Chemicals), as well as domestic outstanding nanometer companies Anhui Xuancheng Jingrui New Materials Co., Ltd., Shandong Guoca Functional Materials Co., Ltd., and downstream application companies Chengdu Sibao Technology Co., Ltd. The company, Hubei Xingfa Chemical Co., Ltd., Foshan Hualian Silicone Company, Shenzhen Maigao New Materials Company, Guangzhou Meikening Company and other units actively participated and provided technical support. This international standard has received strong guidance and support from its domestic counterpart, CNOOC Changzhou Coatings Research Institute Co., Ltd., as well as from Senior Engineer Dai Shifeng, convener of the ISO/TC256/WG7 working group.
Nano new materials are a strategic emerging industry that countries around the world are competing to develop. Especially the technologically powerful countries have regarded the development of new nanomaterials as a national strategy. Fumed silica (commonly known as fumed silica) is a white, fluffy, high-purity nanometer non-metal oxide. It is a nanomaterial with the largest production volume produced by the gas phase method and is also the most widely used one so far. Nanopowder materials are widely used in the fields of silicone rubber, sealants and adhesives, plastics, unsaturated polyesters, coatings and inks, electronics and electrical, green tires, construction and aerospace. They are used to reinforce traditional materials, have high thixotropy, It has excellent functions in terms of resistance to settlement, anti-sag, and resistance to high and low temperatures. Currently, its applications in new fields such as energy-saving materials, advanced ceramics, medicine, and daily chemicals are also increasing. Germany, the United States, and Japan are the main producers of fumed silica. They have long monopolized most of the world’s market share and have a dominant position in the industry. After more than ten years of practical exploration, my country’s Guangzhou Jibisheng Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. and Yichang Huifu Silicon Materials Co., Ltd. have successfully realized the production technology of fumed silica with an annual output of 1,000 tons. In particular, the company’s developed technology has independent intellectual property rights. The surface treatment hydrophobic products have achieved a breakthrough in application technology and formed domestically produced capabilities with international competitiveness.
Directed by Dr. Wang Yuelin Actively implementing the international standardization strategy and promoting the “going out” of my country’s nanomaterials is the only way for my country’s new materials industry to grow from large to strong. In 2005, Guangzhou Jibisheng Company took the lead in formulating the first domestic national standard for fumed silica (GB/T20020-2005). In 2013, the national standard was revised based on the new progress made by my country’s industry, and the standard level was significantly improved. . This not only laid a solid foundation for my country’s fumed silica products to gain recognition from domestic and foreign customers and rapidly expand domestic market share, but also laid a solid foundation for my country’s fumed silica products to go global and actively undertake the formulation of international standards. With the joint efforts of the project leader and the Chinese expert team, many technical indicators in China’s national standards were successfully incorporated into international standards. In particular, China’s original method of classifying products by specific surface area was adopted by the standard and contributed to the Chinese solution. It demonstrates Chinese wisdom and has won unanimous recognition from international experts.
ISO18473 international standard is a series of product standards for nanomaterials in different application scenarios. They are all led by Chinese companies and create a new standard for nanomaterial product standards. direction. ISO 18473-1:2015 “Nano calcium carbonate for sealants” and ISO 18473-2:2015 “Nano titanium dioxide for sun protection” were adopted as EU standards by the EU CEN in 2016. Chinese expert Dr. Wang Yuelin won the award from the ISO/TC256 Committee for taking the lead in presiding over the two international standards ISO18473-1:2015 and ISO18473-3:2018 “Fumed Silica for Silicone Rubber” and other contributions he made to the committee. The first Outstanding Contribution Award. This fully demonstrates the great contribution made by Chinese experts in international standardization, especially the ISO/TC256 committee. Chinese experts did not stop and put forward 2 new international standard proposals related to nanomaterials and 3 international standard proposals for pigments, making China the country that presides over the formulation of the most international standards in ISO/TC256, and in order to realize China’s transformation from a major standard country to a standard Contribute to the leapfrog of great powers.
