Silicone product outlook —- Dow launches new silicone release agents and pressure-sensitive adhesives
DowDuPont (DowDuPont) will launch advanced silicone release agents and pressure-sensitive adhesives for high-performance release films and protective films at the Shenzhen APFO2017 exhibition this week. The new release agent launched this time is specially developed for customers in the Chinese electronics industry and can be used throughout the entire supply chain of electronic equipment. Also launched at the same time: SYL-OFF™ EM-7953 emulsion release agent (suitable for online and offline coating of PET film substrates), etc.
These innovative organic Silicone technologies include aqueous emulsion releases, solvent-based and solvent-free releases, as well as platinum-cured pressure-sensitive adhesives, all of which meet the market’s increasing demands for pressure-sensitive material performance: productivity compared to similar products and higher sustainability, lower cost, better processability and mechanical properties, and easy replacement of film substrates.
DowCorning®7687 pressure-sensitive adhesive for protective films is a high-solids/high-adhesion platinum-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for applications requiring high adhesion. Heli’s customer design can be more effectively used in formulating protective film coatings. The solids content of this high-adhesion pressure-sensitive adhesive enables higher efficiency and performance at a lower cost than lower-adhesion pressure-sensitive adhesives developed by Dow Performance Silicones.
These advanced silicone technologies The coating volume is lower, VOCs emissions can be avoided, optical transparency can be improved, and it can be cured quickly at lower temperatures, bringing many competitive advantages to customers in the packaging industry.
Compared to non Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives, silicone PSA can bring significant advantages to these applications, including: better spreadability and heat resistance, more stable adhesive force control and adhesion, higher optical clarity (resistance to yellowing ), peels off without residue, and better reset performance. For example, Dow Corning®7666 Adhesive is a low-adhesion, solvent-free, platinum-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for Protective films used in electronic device processing and assembly provide highly stable adhesion control and cost-effectiveness, and can be used with medium to high adhesion pressure-sensitive adhesives such as:Dow Corning®7657 Adhesive andDow Corning®7667 Adhesive) use together.
