Sinochem News: Germany’s Wacker Chemical Group recently developed a new generation of water-repellent agents for glass wool and rock wool. This water-based silicone oil emulsion named SILRES BS 5137 has a more excellent emulsifier system than the previous generation product, which can stabilize fine-grained emulsions while preventing the product from being overly viscous or overly hydrophilic. Although the active ingredient content of the product has barely changed, the viscosity is much lower, making it easier to process. (Jiangxi New Materials Co., Ltd.)
Using this new additive, customers can hydrophobicize insulation materials faster, more efficiently, and more cost-effectively. Containers can be emptied more easily and the hydrophobic agent can enter production equipment faster and more easily, ensuring that minerals are protected. The insulation material is protected from moisture erosion for a long time.
