Background and overview of application examples of 5-acetyl-2-fluorophenylboronic acid
5-Acetyl-2-fluorophenylboronic acid can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate, such as for the preparation of compound 5-(5-acetyl-2-fluorophenyl)-2-cyclobutylpyrimidine-4- Methyl formate, which can be used as a herbicide, i.e. to control harmful plants, and can also be used to control unwanted plant growth.
Application examples of 5-acetyl-2-fluorophenylboronic acid
5-Acetyl-2-fluorophenylboronic acid can be used to prepare the compound 5-(5-acetyl-2-fluorophenyl)-2-cyclobutylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester: 5-(5-acetyl-2-fluorophenyl)-2-cyclobutylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester: -Bromo-2-cyclobutylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester (850mg, 3.14mmol, 1.00eq.), 5-acetyl-2-fluorophenylboronic acid (490mg, 3.14mmol, 1.00eq.), K2CO3 (867mg, 6.27mmol, 2.00eq.) and PdCl2dppf (256mg, 0.31mmol, 0.10eq.) is dissolved in into a mixture of degassed acetonitrile (5 mL) and degassed water (1 mL). The resulting mixture was heated to 90°C for 20 hours and then cooled to ambient temperature. Water and dichloromethane were added, the phases separated and the organic phase dried over sodium carbonate (decahydrate) Na2SO4. The solid was removed by filtration and the resulting solution was concentrated under reduced pressure. Column chromatography of the crude product (ISCO-CombiFlash Rf, reversed phase, H2O/MeCN) afforded the title compound 5-(5-acetyl-2-fluorophenyl)- as a colorless solid 2-Cyclobutylpyrimidine-4-carboxylic acid methyl ester (622 mg, yield 66%).
