Recently, the 2016 Hunan Province Fine Chemicals and Functional Materials Academic Annual Conference was held at Hunan University of Science and Technology. More than 140 professors and experts from 15 universities including Central South University, Central China Normal University, and Xiangtan University attended the meeting and gave academic reports.

At the academic seminar, Wang Jianxiu, a doctoral supervisor at Central South University and winner of the Ministry of Education’s New Century Talent Support Program, shared his research results that “functional nanomaterials can be applied to cancer marker miRNA detection and other aspects.” During the detection process, the detector can detect markers of major diseases such as cancer through the fluorescence changes caused by the contact between functional nanomaterials and cancer cells. It also has the characteristics and advantages of amplifying the marker signal. These will provide strong support for the early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer. The research results are also at the leading level internationally and have broad market prospects.
