Carbon dioxide pre-hydrogenation is a new process produced by large-scale ethylene technology. The material composition is complex, and imported products have been used in China for a long time. In 2007, the Petrochemical Institute began small-scale trial development of catalysts, and then cooperated with Daqing Petrochemical to establish a project and decided to conduct industrial testing in a 270,000 tons/year ethylene-stage carbon dioxide hydrogenation reactor. During this start-up, the research and development team of the Petrochemical Institute and Daqing Petrochemical Cooperation Project pioneered a plan to start the operation directly without charging CO. The export products reached the standard in 2 hours, and the device process parameters were stable in 4 hours. Under the working conditions with large fluctuations in the composition of the reaction materials , the reactor operates stably and meets the device requirements, and the catalyst performance is praised by the application manufacturers.
