Also known as sulfurizing agent DCP, Dicumyl peroxide. Molecular formula C18H22O2, relative molecular mass 270.37. Physical and chemical properties White crystal. Melting point 41~42°C. Relative density 1.082. Relative density 1.082, Decomposition temperature 120~125°C. Stable at room temperature. Stable at room temperature, gradually become yellowish in the light. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetic acid, benzene and petroleum ether. Active oxygen content 5.92% (purity 100%), 5.62% (purity 95%). Dissolved in benzene half-life:171℃:1min;117℃:10h;101℃:100h.It is a strong oxidizing agent. Reacts with combustible materials, reducing agents, acids, alkalis, rust, heavy metals. Gradually turns into light yellowish color when seeing light, stable at room temperature, forms polymer compounds above 100℃. Active oxygen content is 5.92% when purity is 100%. Half-life (dissolved in benzene): 1min at 171°C; 10h at 117°C; 100h at 101°C. Strong oxidizing agent, reacts violently with sulfur and perchloric acid, burns slowly when exposed to fire, insensitive to vibration and friction.
