The world’s major siloxane production capacity and distribution
In 2016, the global polysiloxane production capacity was 2.44 million tons/year, with an output of approximately 1.85 million tons. Overall The operating rate is 75.9%. In 2016, global polysiloxane consumption was approximately 1.85 million tons, of which silicone oil, silicone rubber, and silicone resin accounted for 38.6%, 57.3%, and 4.1% respectively.
The world’s major polysiloxane manufacturers include Dow Corning of the United States, Wacker Chemical of Germany, Blue Star of China, and Japan Shin-Etsu, American Momentive and China Xin’an, the world’s major siloxane production capacity and distribution statistics in 2016 are shown in Table 1.
2016Current status of silicone production in China
As of 2016, there are 13 methylsiloxane manufacturers in China, with a total production capacity of 1.328 million tons/ In 2016, Chinese methylsiloxane manufacturers are shown in Table 2.
Polysiloxane products are mainly divided into silicone rubber, silicone oil and silicone resin. The production statistics of major polysiloxane products in China in 2016 are shown in Table 3.
Consumption analysis of polysiloxane finished products in China in 2016
According to SAGSI statistics, China’s siloxane consumption in 2016 was approximately 836,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%. The downstream consumption structure of polysiloxane in China in 2016See Figure 1.

2016Analysis of China’s polysiloxane foreign trade
In 2016, China exported approximately 111,000 tons of primary polysiloxane, a year-on-year increase of 7.77%. See Figure 3. The largest export destination is South Korea, with an export volume of 21,300 tons. In 2016, China’s exports of polysiloxane products were dominated by high-temperature rubber compounds, accounting for approximately 33.9%. In 2016, my country’s largest polysiloxane exporter was Dow Corning, which topped the list with 25,860 tons of pure polysiloxane.

Comparison
In 2016, China’s imported polysiloxane was 97,000 tons in pure volume, a year-on-year increase of 1.0 %, See Figure 4. The main imported polysiloxane products in 2016 were silicone oils and emulsions, accounting for approximately 48.1% of the total. In 2016, polysiloxane imported into China mainly came from Hong Kong, Japan, the United States, Thailand, Germany, South Korea, France, Italy and Taiwan, China. Five multinational companies including Dow Corning, Wacker, Shin-Etsu, Momentive, and Blue Star imported There are about 54,000 tons of siloxane, accounting for about 56% of the total imports.
