Water-soluble medical lubricant for soft endoscopes

Water-soluble medical lubricant for soft endoscopes
There are 4 main types of lubricants on the market, including water-soluble, silicone, petroleum and oil-based. The main ingredients of general water-soluble lubricants: pure water, fiber, glycerin, propylene glycol and so on. They are easy to clean after use, non-greasy and non-allergic.
The lubricants currently used in hospital endoscopy are: medical ultrasound coupling agent, enteroscopy lubricant, lidocaine hydrochloride gastroscopy lubricant, dacronine hydrochloride gel paste, bupivacaine hydrochloride gel paste, medical glycerin, castor oil, paraffin oil, petroleum jelly …… Which of these are water soluble? Here we learn about these lubricants:

1. Lidocaine hydrochloride gum paste – prescription drug
Local anesthetics, indications for laryngeal anesthesia and lubrication during endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract, as well as to get rid of foam in the lumen for a clear view.
2. Dacronin hydrochloride colloid – prescription drug
Local anesthetics, indications for laryngeal anesthesia and lubrication during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, while removing foam in the lumen and making the field of vision clear.
3. Bupivacaine hydrochloride–prescription drug
Local anesthetics are also more toxic, can pass through the mucous membrane, mainly used for mucous membrane anesthesia.
4. Castor oil
Castor oil for the Euphorbiaceae castor plant castor beans extracted from the seeds of the fat oil, at room temperature for almost colorless or slightly yellow clear viscous liquid, slightly odor, taste light and then slightly pungent. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, benzene and carbon disulfide, and anhydrous ethanol, ethyl M, L imitation or glacial acetic acid can be mixed arbitrarily, but insoluble in mineral oil. Relative density 0.956 ~ 0.969 (25 ℃), refractive index 1.478 ~ 1.480, acid value ≦ 2.0, saponification value of 176 ~ 186, iodine value of 82 ~ 90.
Castor oil is a stimulating laxative. In the duodenum by the action of lipase and bile, saponification into glycerol and the mucosa of the small intestine has an irritant sodium ricinoleate and cause intestinal peristalsis enhancement, and laxative effect, mainly in the small intestine, 4-6 hours after the drug defecation.

5.Medical coupling agent
Medical coupling agent is a new generation of water-soluble polymer gel composed of medical products. Its PH value is neutral, non-toxic and harmless to the human body, not easy to dry, not easy to rancidity, ultrasound imaging is clear, viscosity is appropriate, non-greasy, the probe is easy to slide, can wet the skin, eliminate the air on the surface of the skin, lubrication performance is good, easy to unfold; the ultrasound probe is non-corrosive, no damage; ultrasound coupling agent with sterilization function appeared on the market, compared to the traditional common coupling agent, for the production of The requirements of the environment are more stringent, the scope of application is also more extensive.
6. Medical paraffin wax
Medical paraffin wax is usually fully refined paraffin wax and semi-refined paraffin wax, white, odorless waxy solid. Melting at 47°C-64°C, density about 0.9g/cm3, soluble in gasoline, carbon disulfide, xylene, ether, benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, naphtha and other non-polar solvents, insoluble in water and methanol and other polar solvents.
7. Vaseline
Vaseline is an alkene hydrocarbon or saturated hydrocarbons semi-liquid mixture, also known as mineral spirits, made from petroleum fractionation. Its state is between solid and liquid at room temperature, and it is available in brown, yellow and white colors for different applications.
Vaseline (mineral spirits) is a kind of polymer hydrocarbon obtained from petroleum fraction, and the distillation temperature is higher than 303℃. Its specific gravity is between 0.820 and 0.865. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in gasoline and pine oil. Natural petroleum jelly is taken from petroleum residue concentrates such as alkane hydrocarbon heavy oils; synthetic petroleum jelly is taken from mixtures thickened with pure paraffin wax or paraffin wax and paraffin grease to make mineral oil. Vaseline has the odor of mineral oil, but not kerosene. It is used as a raw material for medicines and cosmetics, and for machine lubrication.

Medical Vaseline: It is a homogeneous ointment-like substance with certain drawing property and very short drawing, without odor, which is divided into medical white Vaseline and medical yellow Vaseline according to the depth of refining, respectively white, light yellow to light yellow; it is suitable for the raw materials of medical ointment, cream and skin care ointment; it is made by mixing paraffin grease with mineral oil or mixing spice oil with melted white paraffin wax or paraffin wax and can be used to produce medical It can be used to make medical ointment, used to make emulsion in textile industry, also used as anti-corrosion grease for measuring instruments and surgical instruments, and used as ointment when it is highly refined to reach pharmaceutical grade, and used in pharmaceutical jelly of mineral grease which may be equipped with other substances.
8.Dimethyl silicone oil
Dimethyl silicone oil, also known as methyl silicone oil, polydimethylsiloxane liquid. Colorless transparent viscous liquid, tasteless, odorless, non-toxic. Molecular formula is CH3[Si(cH3)2]nSi(C).
